OLD BUSINESS:

  3. Motion by Lee Ashwill on behalf of Curt Lundine:

    Proposed amendment to the by-laws of the Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs, hereafter called "Federation".

    The following amendment proposal is provided as a new business information item on the regular meeting agenda of July 26, 2009, to be read for the record to the Members of the State executive Board.

    Amendment to Article 7, "Election of Federation Officers": Current language is in normal print font, proposed amendment is in bold print font.

    ARTICLE 7
    ELECTION OF FEDERATION OFFICERS

    Officers shall be elected in the following manner:

    Last sentence of first paragraph; Any person having served a term as Immediate Past President of the Federation shall not be eligible for nomination to any elected position on the State Executive Board for a period of five years following the officer nomination cycle preceding automatic assumption of the office of Immediate Past President.

NEW BUSINESS:

  1. Motion by Al Wolf:

    I move that the Mid-Winter Emergency Fund be abolished and combined with the General Fund Emergency Fund. This will involve deleting the last sentence on page VIII-10 in the Practices and Procedures.

    My reasons for this motion are that it is not needed, and has not been kept up to date since 2001. The original plan was to provide for a loss at Mid-Winter Festival, and the Emerald Empire Council is supposed to be matching out fund. If Mid-Winter was to have a loss, the Federation is obliged to reimburse them for one half, regardless of whether a fund is set aside for that purpose or not. That money would have to come out of our emergency fund.
